RULES

The Classic Performance Series is a one- (1) horse/one (1) rider team, “all-around” performance event. NO substitutions or exceptions allowed for each team. Each horse/rider team will earn points separately. Ex-if you sell your horse or they get hurt, you may ride a different one, but points earned on each will be separate entries for total series end prizes.

The series is open to members and non-members, any age rider and any breed of horse.

This is an “all-around” performance series. Participants must pay for that day’s entire entry fee for each day participated in to remain qualified in the series ($60 fee per day no matter how many classes you show in or when you enter). Total entry for both days (4 classes each day, 2 judges per day) is $100 if paid at once.

CLASSIC PERFORMANCE SERIES QUALIFYING CLASSES:
(denoted on showbill as “CPS,” other non-CPS classes DO NOT QUALIFY for points earned towards Classic Performance Series) Showmanship, English Pleasure, Western Pleasure, and Horsemanship.

*For Classes requiring individual work, exhibitors must go in the order drawn.

HOW TO ENTER THE SERIES

Each exhibitor must sign a Classic Performance Series Point Sheet and KSHSC Release Form.
Errors on entry forms are the responsibility of the exhibitor.
Checks are payable to “Classic Performance Series” and paid separately from other class entry fees.
ONLY those exhibitors entered for the series will show in the corresponding series classes and
have their points tabulated towards the overall awards.
Exhibitors may enter at any time during each of the 2 days of show, but they must pay at least that days full entry fee regardless of classes participated in. ($60 minimum, even if you only show one class of one day)

HOW POINTS ARE EARNED AND ACCUMULATED

Any points earned in this series do NOT count toward a KSHSC members’ year-end award(s).

Top 10 will be placed in each class for each judge. 1st place for each judge earns 10pts, 2nd place earns 9pts, down to 10th place earning 1pt. Totals will be tabulated following the last CPS class on Aug. 30th 2008 and awards presented shortly thereafter on premises of the show.

EACH HORSE AND/OR RIDER WILL ONLY BE ELIGIBLE FOR ONE CASH PRIZE. If a rider uses more than one horse or a horse is ridden by more than one rider, each horse or rider will only be awarded the highest money prize earned for each horses point total. Lower money winning point totals for the horse or rider will be removed from the brackets.
Example-If a rider wins $25 for 3rd in 2-D with one horse and $75 for 1st in 3-D with another, they will receive $75, be removed from the 2-D and the next eligible point earners in 2-D will move up a spot. The same thing goes for a horse that was ridden by two different riders; there will only be one paid cash prize per horse or rider.

Tiebreakers will be determined by the horse/rider team that has earned the most First Places and/or Second Places, or Third Places, etc. over the duration of the series. In the event of a further tie, the exhibitors will decide to split the cash award or allow a coin toss for the higher placing in the Division, toss loser gets the next placing.

AWARDS

All cash awards are guaranteed. First place in each division may even earn more than advertised.

If no horse/rider team qualifies for a placing, that money will be paid to the Division 1st place earner. Example-if the top point earner earned 100pts and only 2 exhibitors fell in the 2D (earned between 84 and 70 points), 3rd place in 2-D ($50) will be paid to 1st place 2-D since there wasn’t a third eligible participant. (The 1st place 2-D earner would then receive $150)

YOU MUST FALL WITHIN THE POINT RANGES OF A DIVISION TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THAT DIVISIONS PAYOUTS, that’s what makes this interesting!
