KSHSC Rules Proposals for 2007 Show Season
1. Copies of registration papers for registered quarter horse classes to be included with membership application.

2. Each organization may have only one show (no double-judged shows) per season.

3. Entry fee shall not exceed $4.00 for youth classes and $5.00 for open/adult classes.

4. Members may email or send via regular mail proposals to the Corresponding Secretary to be presented at the annual Rules Proposal Meeting. This is addition to presenting the proposal(s) in person. Proposals must be received by the Corresponding Secretary prior to the Proposal Meeting to be eligible.

5. If a member wins a year-end award, but does not attend the Awards Banquet, he or she will be notified by KSHSC via a telephone call, email or regular mail of the award. The member then has 30 days from notification to either pick up or pay for shipping of the award. No awards will be held past 30 days.

6. Revise class to be “Tandem Bareback Walk-Trot Pleasure” and add: riders will be judged at a walk and trot at both directions of the arena. Riders participating in this class are still eligible to compete in classes requiring cantering or loping.

7. Walk-Trot Western Pleasure, Horse 3 years and under: any horse ridden in this class will not be allowed to enter other classes which require loping or cantering. This is on a per-show basis.

8. Add a Pleasure Pairs Walk Trot class: May be shown in either Western or English attire and equipment; all horses shall be judged at walk/trot both directions and asked to back; open to all breeds; class points shall be awarded to the horse; pairs judged on suitability of attire, performance and manner; all riders and horses shall be eligible for all other walk, trot and loping classes.

9. Remove classes 18 and 19, “Western Pleasure Ladies 19 and Over” and “Western Pleasure Men 19 and Over”

10. Youth Scholarship Amount: As long as sufficient funds exist in the KSHSC Youth Treasury, awards shall be for $600 per student.

11. Walk-trot Horsemanship, 6-9 years: the judge must choose from following two patterns and must still post patterns at shows:
a. With cones in a straight line, start at cone A, jog to cone B. Stop and back 3 steps
b. With cones in a straight line, start at cone A, walk to cone B. Pick up jog at cone B and jog in a circle to right. Upon completing circle, continue to jog to cone
C. Stop and back 3 steps.

12. Add a Walk-Trot Pleasure, 6-9. (For safety reasons)
