KSHSC Rules Proposals for 2008 Show Season 

1. Article X, Section 7, B (page C-35)

Remove overall time limit of two (2) minutes from the approach to the first obstacle: leave time requirement to discretion of judge

Reason: We have learned the time limit currently specified has not been realistic

2. Article II, Section 17 (page C-11)

Add: Trail classes can be held outside the arena (with safety considered)

Reason: To save time, trail classes can be set-up outside the arena – otherwise, the show must stop while the trail is set-up and taken down

3. Article VII, Section3, 17 (page C-20)

Change “Western Pleasure 19 years and Over” to “Western Pleasure 19-39” while keeping “Western Pleasure 40 and Over”

Reason: To have a class specifically for younger “older” riders

4. Article VII, Section 2, 14 (page C-19)

Divide English Equitation 18 and under into 2 classes: 
*English Equitation 13 and under
*English Equitation 14-18

Reason: It can be overwhelming to a younger rider to compete in a class against older riders. A good solution would be to split the class by age

5. Article X, Section 5, #5 (page C-29)

Change assignment of Class Points in Pleasure Pairs Walk Trot to: the same pair, both rider and horse, for the season.

Reason: None given

6. Article II, Section 24 (page C-13)

Allow cash payback to exhibitors 18 and under for Classic Performance Series

Reason: Youth compete in the Classic Performance Series and have been awarded cash prizes. This change would reflect what has been done.
